Artist Gallery

Located within the walls of our main street storefront, is the artist gallery, a longstanding Greenport gallery featuring seven local artists. An array of pieces, of varying mediums, are displayed for viewing and sale.

The following is a list of artists currently on display at Clawflowers.

Anita Samuels

What makes me paint? Looking around me at the landscape, nature, light & shape, has influenced me all my painting life.  Colors, designs, and even sounds have stirred emotions I wanted to save and hoped to share with others. Nothing is more important and makes me happier than representing natural beauty. The message is in the sight. Click here to visit my web page.

Grace Jara

Born in Grace Hills, in Santiago, Chile, Grace grew up in the mountains of Coya where she acquired her love of nature, horses, and independence. Grace's art career began at the Instituto de Bellas Artes, Santiago, Chile and later at the Art Student's League in NYC, where she studied sculpture, print-making and oil painting. GraceJara.com

David Haliski

In 2008, I rediscovered a passion for those vibrantly colored plastic pieces that occupied so much of my time as a child. I decided to combine this passion with that of fine art to create these unique works. My direction is to break down concepts using limited color palates, allowing the eye to complete colors and depth through distance.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in commissioning a custom piece.

Arife Ates

I began studying photography at Suffolk Community College in 1996. I focused on capturing pictures of my family and the scenic vistas of Turkey. While traveling through Europe, my approach changed and I began to appreciate urban and cultural descriptions. Although I still prefer to shoot my daughter in our home setting, I make special trips to Manhattan, to document its energy and diversity, catching individuals and their behaviors in their natural environment.

Mindy Lighthype

Mindy Lighthype’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States and abroad, including the Denver Museum of Natural History, The Bruce Museum and Greenwich Audubon Society in Greenwich, Connecticut, The Albany State Museum in Albany, New York, The New Jersey State Museum, The New York Botanical Garden Gallery, The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, The Katy Greenglass Gallery and the Aviarios del Caribe Galeria in Costa Rico.  Her drawings and paintings are included in many private, public and corporate collections.

Christine Dupius

Christine Dupius is a bold watercolorist. With strong colors and a distinct sense of composition, her paintings make a strong impression. Highly stylized, but realistic, she is equally at home with landscapes, still-lifes and portraiture.
